A push across the country for parents to make sure their babies have the recommended immunizations.  Correct vaccinations for children by age two can aid in protection from 14 serious diseases.  Officials say 2-3 million deaths occur each year from vaccine preventable diseases, half of those deaths are children under three years old.

Pediatricians stress correct timing of immunizations is also critical to their effectiveness. 

The Home Instead Senior Care office serving Owensboro, Henderson and much of western Kentucky today announced it expects to add 100 CAREGivers to its existing staff in 2013.

The local company’s anticipated growth is a key indicator of the increasing demand for home care professionals and the strength of the industry. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of personal care aides is expected to grow by 70 percent from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations.

WEBSTER CO., KY (WFIE)- As Thursday night's severe weather moves out of the area, several Webster County roads are closed due to high water.

State Route 132 from Dixon into Clay is closed from Nat Taylor Road to State Route 857.

270 West is closed at the Dotiki Mine entrance.

In Slaughters, the intersection of State Route 138 and 120 is closed right off of Highway 41 north.

Officials say they aren't sure when those will open back up.
