KY 132 in Webster County is closed between Dixon and Clay to allow additional cross drain replacement work that started last Friday.

KY 132 is closed between the 13 mile marker and mile point 13.5 between Dixon and Clay.

This is on KY 132 between Free Union-Tilden Road and Nat Taylor Road about 3 miles west of Dixon.

There will be no marked detour.  However, motorists may self detour via KY 1340.

The Home Instead Senior Care office serving Owensboro, Henderson and much of western Kentucky today announced it expects to add 100 CAREGivers to its existing staff in 2013.

The local company’s anticipated growth is a key indicator of the increasing demand for home care professionals and the strength of the industry. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of personal care aides is expected to grow by 70 percent from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations.

Two Union County roads will get new asphalt in state plan

 

Two highways in Union County will get new pavement as part of a $27 million asphalt rehabilitation project announced by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

A 0.36-mile section of KY 130 (Morganfield-Uniontown Road) from KY 360 to the end of the state maintenance and a 3-mile section of KY 666 (Uniontown-Morganfield Road) from KY 360 to KY 130 will be part of the work set to begin later this year.  Rogers Group Inc. was awarded the contract for $254,145.  The completion date is November 15.

Several Webster Co. roads closed due to high water

WEBSTER CO., KY (WFIE)- As Thursday night's severe weather moves out of the area, several Webster County roads are closed due to high water.

State Route 132 from Dixon into Clay is closed from Nat Taylor Road to State Route 857.

270 West is closed at the Dotiki Mine entrance.

In Slaughters, the intersection of State Route 138 and 120 is closed right off of Highway 41 north.

Officials say they aren't sure when those will open back up.

Young girl mauled by dog in Union Co.

UNION CO., KY (WFIE)- A two-year-old girl has been hospitalized after being mauled by a dog in Union County. 

Officials say the girl suffered a severe laceration to her face Tuesday night and was taken to Union County Methodist Hospital.

Authorities say while on scene the dog attempted to attack first responders and had to be put down.

"They were just trying to stop him from being aggressive. The child's already been bit. So, we know the dog will bite. It was coming at them, it is the only reason they had to do that," Sheriff Mickey Arnold.
