Union County represented at Kentucky State Fair | Events
As the Kentucky State Fair prepares to come to a close Sunday, the Union County Pride of the Counties booth has proven to be a big hit according those local folks who have volunteered as Union County Ambassadors.
The booth is part of the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Pride of the Counties display at the State Fair, August 15-25. The booth features the county’s agriculture, coal, education and our Quilt Trail Project which made up the four display boards.
The tables contain the brochures and pamphlets produced by the Tourism office, along with some from local businesses.
Perhaps the biggest hit at county’s both has been the display of coal and other coal items.
The booth is sponsored by the Union County Fiscal Coot in cooperation with River View Coal and the Tourism office.
The volunteers include Nyra & Marty Ford; Bobbie Sue Heppler & Linda Penrod; Melissa & Nick Polites; Lynda & Rick Jackson; Wanda & Roy Lawyer; Carolyn & Charles Buckman; Penny & Keith Durbin; Becky & Randy Greenwell; Penny & Richie Jones; Linda & Jack Stevens; and Kim Humphrey. Staff from the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Academy also volunteered for the booth,
Door prizes have been provided by Clements Job Corps Academy; Meacham Hams; Union County First and the Tourism Office.
