Plenty to do in Union County Saturday | Events

Saturday will certainly be a busy day in Union County for those who like a lot of fun.

It all starts with the Fifth Annual Get Fit KY Triathlon Event at Moffit Lake Recreation Area.  The event gets away at 8 a.m.  Then you can view part of the Kentucky Junior Rodeo at the Union County Fairgrounds Arnold Arena.

Next up is the Sturgis Kiwanis Drag Strip Reunion Car & Truck Show at Sturgis City Park.  $10 registration from noon till 3 p.m.  Awards at 6 p.m.  Special guest is the Moody & Jones record setting racing team.  Food available.  Vintage drag cars will be featured.

After viewing the cars you  can then make your to the St. Ann Church Picnic in Morganfield.  BBQ mutton and pork will be offered along with flavorful side dishes.  Games and raffles, ice cream and a cake wheel will also be featured.  Dinner will be served in the air-conditioned parish hall.
