UNION CO., KY (WFIE) - Union Co. Judge-Executive Jody Jenkins says plans for a new dog kennel facility are underway.
Jenkins tells 14News the new multi-purpose facility will be able to house stray dogs in the county. He says the county is also in cooperation with a nearby no-kill shelter to help keep local animals safe.
"We're going to have a shelter that will adhere to the means of what our needs are in the community, and then we'll see where it goes from there," Jenkins says.
County officials say bids came in last week for the project, which is also being reviewed by an architect.
