A 24-year-old southern Illinois man was arrested for driving drunk after Kentucky State Police say he caused some mayhem on KY 109 Sunday night.

Troopers say Mark A Leroy II of Equality was operating a maroon 1999 GMC van that was traveling north bound on State Route 109 about a quarter of a mile south of KY 668 when his vehicle went off the roadway causing the axle to fall off the vehicle onto the roadway.

According to KSP, Leroy got out of his vehicle attempting to remove the axle from the road  just as 52-year-old Steven D Cooper of Marion, Ky.
